Use the form below to order this cooling water kit level 1 simply and quickly. With this you can easily take a cooling water sample, which can be registered online. Finally, send it to us. Don't wait any longer and avoid standstill of your engine(s).
The level-1 analysis can be subdivided into four categories:
Coolant type: Colour, metal analysis
Protection against overheating and freezing: Glycol percentage
Coolant condition: pH, conductivity, nitrite, physical inspection
Contamination of the coolant: oil contamination, fuel contamination, foam
The level-1 analysis provides information about the levels of erosion and corrosion and potential system problems such as overheating, stray current, the penetration of air and exhaust fumes. Corrosion and erosion levels are checked by means of an element analysis. The monitored elements include:
aluminium (AI) copper (Cu) iron (Fe) lead (Pb) tin (Sn) zinc (Zn)
This analysis can detect particles up to 10 microns in size. The results of the element analysis are reported in particles per million, ppm. The presence of contaminations can result in higher corrosion and erosion levels.
The level-2 analysis provides additional information about the additives that are commonly found in extended life and conventional coolants. General conventional coolant additives that are detected are:
nitrates phosphates borates silicates
Knowledge of the levels of these additives helps to determine if an extended life or conventional coolant is used. It is then possible to make appropriate recommendations about additives of the extender and SCA.
Furthermore, this analysis can ensure a better understanding of the maintenance intervals and the general condition of the coolant. With a level-2 coolant analysis, you can also recognise poor mixtures of conventional and extended life products, as well as the use of recycled coolant.
The analysis usually takes a week to complete.
We incorporate the analysis results into a report which we share with you by e-mail. This report contains our advice so that you know what the best measures are you can take. The advice is elucidated by using colour codes in the report. Green: No action required, Yellow, Monitor compartment, Red: Action required.
If the analysis shows that no deviations were found in the cooling water, we will send you a green report, explaining that the cooling water tests showed a normal result The next step is taking a sample in accordance with the normal sampling interval.
If the level-1 analysis shows that the cooling water is not okay, we may recommend a level-2 analysis to gain a better insight. This enables us to give you better advice in order to prevent a breakdown.
You are notified of the analysis results by means of a report which we will send to you by e-mail.
We have, by far, more knowledge of your Cat engines than anyone else. Also, the staff at our analysis laboratory have confidential information from Caterpillar, which we use to give you the best possible advice.
