HYBRID CENTER AND ONLINE HYBRID CONFIGURATOR

For the past couple of years, Pon Power has invested a great amount of resources in developing green solutions for the future.

In September 2021, we opened our new test center for hybrid propulsion solutions at the head office at Berger outside Oslo. The center's primary purpose is to develop, test and optimize hybrid propulsion solutions to reduce operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

In order to develop and deliver top quality hybrid solutions, expertise within technology, design, production, installation and start-up is crucial. The test center gives us the opportunity to develop the right competence - both internal, and for external partners /customers. In addition, we will be able to test and document the effects of the systems, reduce risk and ensure successful installations.

In collaboration with MHTech, Pon Power has developed and launched an online configuration tool for hybrid propulsion solutions www.ponepower.no. The aim of the tool is for the user to configure their own hybrid solution according to their needs by specifying the type of vessel, operating profile, power requirements, etc. The tool will find the optimal solution based on criteria such as fuel savings, CO2 emissions, investment cost. It will also estimate price and support from enova. With knowledge and experience from the Hybrid Test Center, we will be able to further develop and update the data behind the Hybrid Configurator.
