Over time parts of your engine may gradually exhibit signs of wear. The degree of wear naturally depends on the intensity of use and the age of the engine. To extend the lifetime of your engine and avoid unexpected downtime, we offer you a number of options for repairs. Together with you, we will select the option best suited to your particular situation.
We have a repair option for every situation. The options are subdivided into five different levels:
Level 1 – Preventive maintenance: avoids unnecessary downtime by preventive replacement of components.
Level 2 – Lifetime extension: replacement of level 1 components plus level 2 components will extend the total lifetime.
Level 3 – Repair before or after failure: if the lead time is not an important factor, this level is an attractive option instead of replacement by a Reman engine.
Level 4 – Reman exchange engine: reset of the number of hours and an engine completely overhauled by Caterpillar.
Level 5 – New engine: the entire engine will be replaced by a new one.
Preventive repair is obviously the most durable solution. Replacing components avoids unexpected downtime. It also reduces your costs. Only components that really need to be replaced will be replaced or overhauled. Parts replaced by original Caterpillar parts come with a 12-month warranty.
